Abstract
The present article presents additional critical remarks on the Semitic and Afroasiatic lexical comparisons proposed in the Hamito‐Semitic Etymological Dictionary (HSED) by V. Orel and O. Stolbova. It continues the review‐article of this important lexicographic work earlier published by the present author in collaboration with I.M. Diakonoff (ZDMG 146:1, 1996). The first pages of the article deal with questions and objections raised by the authors of HSED in their reply to the aforementioned review (ZDMG 147:1, 1997).
